ABSTRACT This research try to explore how the way the mobilization used by onderbouw organization to strengthen the social bases of their main political party, with the methods and strategies of mobilization in order to do those things as a main research focus. Besides aiming to see how significant the presence of onderbouw organization for the political party, this research is also expected to add the literature that related to the subject of political mobilization. The research object is DPD Repdem DIY as one of PDI Perjuangan‟s onderbouw organization, while the metode for this research is Case Study; with the Special Region of Yogyakarta as spatial limit and temporal restriction toward the 2014 Election. This research had found that there are several factors that could make the presence of onderbouw organization for a political party become relevant. First, onderbouw organization having flexibilty to diversify party‟s image and attractiveness to the specific target group regardless of ideological identity and party‟s traditional mass bases. Second, onderbouw organization could be used to strengthen the relation between political party and its mass constantly, so that political party have a chance to avoid the transaction politics activities which commonly happen when the election period comes. Third, political party could utilize their onderbouw organization to promote their principles and ideology widely. Fourth, political party could use their onderbouw organization as a medium to do some political recruitment. Fifth, onderbouw organization also can be used to tie the closeness between the parties and their constituents through the tasks of political advocacy and education.
