Economic potential arising from wood forests leads state policy is more focused on the economic benefits rather than the ecological balance. The distinction of those logic lead to a contradiction between the interests of the state and the tradition t dependents through the natural resources of the forest. Amid the contradictions of interests between countries with customs, Dayak Iban had proved to demonstrate their existence as indigenous peoples are able to maintain the forests adat. For the sake of reading of this phenomenon, the author refers to the theories of resource mobilizationJ.Craig Jenkins. This theory emphasizes the use of resources is a key to the success of the movement that is supported by the rationality of actors. Starting with the aim of maintaining indigenous forests, social movements Dayak Iban activate colored with traditional institutions to mobilize their resources. The political regime change come to be a historical record of how the presence of chance played a role in the success of social movements Dayak Iban. Striped long journey motion straight with the birth of various policies such as the Forestry Law No. 41 of 1999, the forest certificate, until the Constitutional Court decision as evidence that the indigenous forests began to be recognized by the state. This indicates that the customs is key to the success of social movements Dayak Iban.
