Abstract So many interesting and unique things in Yogyakarta, one of them are the group busker. They are consisting of five members or more. Each group buskers are singing in different areas, but however they are still remain consistent to staying in crowded places or roadside traffic light. Singing by displaying one of their skills, play traditional music instrument called angklung music. And other instrument gambang, drums, and cymbals, resulting a lively rhythm of music. The need of life are encourages the busker to sing in the street. There is a desire to be recognized and accepted by society, in the middle of circumstances that can be said to be economically disadvantaged. they become marginalized communities. Unsettled jobs, even unemployment would make them become weakly in the social status. By busking with angklung, they trying to make a living and do something that can be as creative as possible. The research method was developed using qualitative method and phenomenological approach, so that research can be interpreted as extensive research, fundamental and natural, also it was not limited to the empirically only. Informants in this study were 30, determined by purposive sampling method, while the techniques of data collection using observation, in-depth interview, then supported by questionnaires in order to obtain aggregate data from busker angklung and the study of literature. Angklung busker group make the streets as a stage, where the street is a place for them to promote their busker angklung group, in order to get a positive response from people and support them to be able to actualize themselves. The street was a strategic place, in addition to promoting their presence and in time same time they busking on the streets. This research is expected to become additional information for the government to solve social problems such as the emergence many busker angklung group on the streets. Also it is expected, this study may add a reference for researchers and academics. Keywords: busker angklung, interaction, self-actualization
