ABSTRACT BUMD as enterprise organization owned by regional government is expected to have its role and contribution toward regional economic. In a fact many BUMD have failed doing its job as regional economic booster. Nevertheless, behind bad images BUMD known, there are some BUMD that could be said effective and have good performance. This research is about organizational effectiveness between two BUMD which have different effectiveness. The objective of the study is to find out influencing dominant factors of effectiveness PD BPR Bank Bantul and PD BPR Bank Sleman. This research used qualitative approach with case study method. The focus of this research is organizational effectiveness of PD BPR Bank Bantul and PD BPR Bank Sleman, which can be seen using two aspects, namely ability to gain profit and ability to prospering customer. Data collection techniques used study literature and interview. The study results showed that there are three influencing dominant factors of effectiveness variation, that is human resources, leadership, and customer. Human resources consist of employee number, employee quality, and employee prosperity. Leadership consist of ability to motivate employee and ability to communicate with employee. Customer factor consist of customer assesment and customer ability to return credit. Key words : effectiveness, organization, BUMD.
