Abstrack Mass media is one of the channels to distribute information to the public. Here lies the companionship between the three entities; state, markets and society. The mass media which is the fourth pillar of democracy cannot make it stand in the neutral position. This study aims to determine how Harian Jogja framing a news with the topic of airport development in Kulon Progo. In the news construction of the airport development in Kulon Progo, Harian Jogja as one of the local newspapers was very active in lifting this issue. Harian Jogja with one of rubric’s page entitled Kulon Progo has a spacious room to lift this issue. Airport development which involves many actors would be published in different ways by the Harian Jogja. To see how the framing was done, this study is identifying and analyzing Pan’s and Kosicki’s framing. By using the master frame will be known what are the specific issues that targeted. Then identify the elements which is used to determine macro-structural, micro-structural and rhetorical elements. News will be seen by the actors involved. Through these methods, it is known that Harian Jogja framing a news of an airport development in Kulon Progo with positive things. The framing have been done with the use of specific languages, pro airport’s speakers and display a variety of graphics that supports the the airport development in Kulon Progo.
