Inovasi Kelompok Masyarakat dalam Melestarikan Hutan Mangrove di Desa Lubuk Kertang

ABSTRACT Damage and ignorance functions of mangrove forests by humans, has caused the destruction of mangrove forests almost throughout the world, including in the village of Lubuk Kertang, District Berandan Barat, Langkat. Management and utilization of mangrove forest-based communities, especially the local community is a management approach that involves cooperation between local communities (in the group) along with government and private sector, where community participation is actively conducted from planning relating to the determination of strategic policy to in practice even to the stage of supervision. The active involvement of all elements in the village of Lubuk Kertang in preserving mangrove forests is interesting because as the prototype development of coastal areas. Such community there are two groups, namely Kelompok Mekar as mangrove forest managers and Kelompok Tani Abadi Mangrove as beneficiaries of mangrove forest products. This study uses a qualitative method with purposive sampling wide approach in the selection of his informant. Interview techniques using in-depth interviews in order to get full information from informants. Observations carried out for non-participants, A literature study weeks to complete the research data on previous research and documentation using personal documentation. The findings in the field and then triangulated to get valid data. Furthermore, the process of data analysis and conclusions . The results of this study indicate that the communities in Lubuk Kertang innovating to preserve the mangrove forests in the village of Lubuk Kertang by utilizing the mangrove forest through ecotourism managed mangrove Kelompok Mekar and make refined products from the mangrove Kelompok Tani Abadi Mangrove. Innovation committed has distinctive features in terms of ideas, programs, structure, system, including the possibility of the expected results, has a characteristic or element of novelty in the sense of an innovation have the level of originality and novelty, planned programs through the preparation thoroughly with a clear program, and purposeful direction to be achieved, including strategies to achieve those objectives. This innovation encourages the public to care and preserve the mangrove forests in the village of Lubuk Kertang. Activities that do not always related to management of mangrove eco-tourism or processed products, but other activities are shaped mangrove forest management, such as conservation, planting, and the establishment of Daerah Perlindungan Mangrove (DPM).
