Peran Modal Sosial dalam Usaha Odong-odong di Alun-alun Selatan Kota Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is one of the tourist destinations for local and foreign tourists. Many tourism destinations in Yogyakarta City, one of them is odong-odong tourism in the South Square that began in the afternoon until the evening. Before odong-odong tourism in South square, many tours that once existed in the South Square, like seeing elephants in the afternoon, the klitikan market, wayang and the oldest is the tradition of Masangin (entrance between two trees). From various tours ever, odong-odong is the greatest excursions and has such great income every day. See the things, researchers would like to see the role of the community in advancing business odong-odong in the Square South of Yogyakarta city. The purpose of this research to identify the trust that exists in the community, identify the existing network in the community either with the public or with outside parties, identify the norms regulating the mutual societies, and what is accepted by the community. The theory is used to examine the research is the theory of social capital-owned Putnam. The essence of theory is a part of social life such as networks, norms and trust that encourages participants to act more effectively to achieve the common goal in which social contacts affect the productivity of participants between the participants themselves. Research methods used in this research is a descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques using observation and interview. The observation is used to describe the setting location, community social and cultural circumstances. Interviews were also conducted with the various parties if it can help meet the required data such as manufacturer, administrators, employers, and Government agencies such as the Department of tourism. After all data is completed the next step is reduction data, display data, the analysis and then be drawn the conclusion. The results of this research is that any elements such as trust, norms, and networks have a function in odong-odong business. In business, trust is the strongest element of the three elements that exist, because other elements have limitations, such as the exclusive network, a network that is too fixated with Yogyakarta Sultan Palace, and norms that are too flexible and not binding on its members. The most important aspects of the elements of social capital were run well role to achieve the common goal i.e. the welfare of society. Actors involved are also aware that any action they do will affect the entire system and productivity that is in the system. Keywords: Trust, Norms, Social Networks
