ABSTRACT Christiany admits the necessity of offering a way of life, which is in line with Church duty to teach. The duty is called cathecese. In its implementation, cathecese has several forms; one of which is through performance art. One kind of performance art for conducting cathecese, which now is quite wellknown in area of Keuskupan Agung Semarang and Keuskupan Purwokerto is wayang wahyu (wahyu puppet show). This study aims at identifying how cathecese message is delivered by the characters in a wayang wahyu entitled “Juru Slameting Jagad”. This study employs qualitative method and specifically Propp narrative analysis method. The focus of the study is on the message of cathecese delivered by five central characters in the wayang. Besides, the finding shows that there were two non-central characters who delivered more messages of cathecese rather than the five central characters.
