ABSTRACT Since the global economy crisis in 2008, there has been a spreading domino effect of economy downfall, including European Union members. Greece, which is very well known for its problem with its crisis, has been gaining help from the socalled troika: ECB, IMF, and the rest of Euro members. German itself has been rising as the largest economy by far in European Union that its decisions are not only domestically crucial but also important in the European Union region as well. One of them is during the dilemmatic proposal of Greece to extend the economy bailout time limit. In this process, at first German’s government rejected the idea straight after hearing the proposal from Greece. Schäuble, particularly does not seems to have any interest to discuss it any further. Nevertheless, by the end of the negotiation, German decision has completely changed to a support for the bailout extension. It is really appealing because the timeline of this case is no more than a week; which is quite fast. The theme of this thesis is the decision-making process of bailout extension and it is gives necessity to examine this as mentioned before that the process is less than a week. By using two-level games theory, the dynamic between Greece, European Union, and Germany will be examined deeper. Who has the best win-sets overlapping in this matter? Moreover, which factor is actually the more influential one? There are several actors and factors that could contribute in the decisionmaking process according to Putnam, and the thesis itself will try to elaborate more about which win-sets is actually relevant to the case of Greco-Germany relations in this case.
