Dominasi Tengkulak terhadap Petani Cengkehdi Desa Sawahan Kecamatan Panggul Kabupaten Trenggalek Jawa Timur

Ilmu Sosiatri)ABSTRACT Clove agriculture is the most important sector in the economy of Sawahan Village society because the region of Sawahan Village is included in north zone as the spot for the agriculture and plantation development of rained plants. As many as 1093 people of Sawahan Village are all farmers. There is a relation between the clove farmers and the wholesaler. This relation creates a domination which indirectly used by the wholesaler to the clove farmers. The aim of this research is to figure out the form of the domination done by the wholesaler to the farmers and to find out the effect due to the domination. This research used the qualitative research method with descriptive approach. To obtain the data from the research, the researcher used the determination technique of informers by using purposive sample and snowball sample. There were 16 informers consisted of collectors, wholesaler, farmers dependence wholesaler, farmers dependence collectors, and Forestry Service of Panggul District. The result of the research was that the relation connected between the clove farmers and the wholesaler created certain condition where the wholesaler indirectly dominated the clove farmers in terms of clove trade. The farmers relied on the wholesaler when they needed money to fulfill their needs. The long-term relations between the clove farmers and the wholesaler created a faith on the clove farmers to the wholesaler. This research used Marx capitalism concept as the base of the research. In capitalism concept, the capitalists‟ relations look objective and scientific so they will not look like domination. The relation between clove farmers and the wholesaler looks objective in terms of the win-win solution, but indirectly, the system in the relation is profitable for the wholesaler, for instance in the debt and credit activities done by the farmers and the wholesaler.
