2016 | Skripsi | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalABSTRACT On September 7, 2010 a Chinese fishing trawler collided with Japan Coast Guard ( JCG ) patrol boat in waters near disputed Senkaku / Diaoyu Islands. The Chinese Captain and fourteen crew were taken custody for investigation by Japan. Chinese protested and demanded Japan to release the captain and his crew immediately. But, Japan didn’t respond to the Chinese protest to release Chinese fisherman and crew immediately, turns out Japan became more “stubborn” and difficult to release the captain and his crew. Chinese reaction became more severe, Chinese announced to stop high level talks and other partnership plans with Japan in order to Japan will release Chinese captain and crew immediately. The stop of high level talks and other partnership plans between China and Japan later affected the diplomatic relation between two countries, especially in Senkaku / Diaoyu dispute issue.
