Membangun Citra Politisi melalui Situs Pribadi:(Analisis Isi Citra Fadli Zon dan Fahri Hamzah dalam Situs Pribadinya)

ABSTRACT The development of communication technology, especially in the use of new media, affects the various aspects of communication and the way of communication development, including political communication. The use of new media in political communication is used by politicians to construct an image regarding to what image he/she wants through the information in their social media and personal website. The image of politicians which is constructed in their personal websites is interesting to be analyzed because through the personal website, politicians can construct the image that he/she wants through the selected information in it. By using the qualitative content analysis method, the researcher is trying to see how Fadli Zon’s and Fahri Hamzah’s images are displayed on their personal websites in order to get a positive image to keep the constituents and their popularity in public although the election period has been exceeded. According to Shyles (1984), this research takes two things that form the image of politicians, the competency and character of politicians. Qualitative content analysis is used to see competencies and characters that appear in the information in their personal websites and compare it to their competencies and characters in responding the issues that occurred in the mass media. The results showed that there is a difference between an image which is constructed in politician’s personal website and an image which is constructed in mass media. In their personal websites, these two politicians showed a positive image through their competencies and characters in their personal websites. This is different from their images which are constructed in the mass media, that indicates an effort to select specific information which is adjusted with the image that politicians want to build in their personal sites.
