ABSTRACT In this globalization era, the distribution of information and human mobility becomes easier. This is a direct result of the development of information technology, transportation, and communications. This simply increases the mobility of people closely linked to the dynamics of the tourism sector in the international world. The tourism sector itself has a significant role in sustaining the economic condition of a country. Countries today are trying to improve their tourism sector in order to support their economy. One strategy that can be done to support the tourism sector of a country is to conduct promotional strategy. One of the example promotion strategy is the spread of the influence of the country itself, as we can see the examples are South Korea and Japan. The spread of popular culture of the two countries used by the government of each country not only to spread its influence, but also to stimulate the tourism sector in the country.
