Gerakan Nir Kekerasan di Australia:(Studi kasus Gerakan Anti Perang dan Gerakan Lingkungan

Abstract Australia has many public issues on terrorism and environmental. The society has a self-awareness about those issues and dreaming of the world in peace for a long time and keeping their environment naturally. But in fact, the government made a wrong decision like sending troop to Vietnam, Iraq, planning to build a dam on the Heritage Site and take a part in nuclear industry. The Society thinks that the policy could make a lot of disadvantage for Australians. In order to affect the government policy, the society make a movement like anti-war movement and environmental movement. The aim of this movement to change government policy and to make Australians realize that the war is bad, and the nature must be maintained. Organization has some strategy to bring people to take a part of this action. When the social movement formed, the actors do a lot of nonviolent methods such as protest, demonstration, long marched, theater show, music show, blockade, intervention, and many more strategy that will help anti-war group and environmental group to reach their purpose. As a result, the nonviolent action is not always make the movement succeed. Some could reach their purpose like in Vietnam War case and anti-Franklin Dam case, and the other failed to change the policy like in Iraq Invasion case, and nuclear industry and uranium mining case.
