Studi Komparasi Proses Inovasi :(Proses Inovasi RRI Yogyakarta dan Radio Swaragama FM)

ABSTRACT Radio is media of information and entertainment has existed since old time. Along with a times, radio must keep their existence in society by the innovation. Innovation in the organization can not be separated from the process of innovation. Innovation process consists of three stages: idea generation, ide conversion, and idea diffusion. Author tried to compare the innovation process between RRI Yogyakarta and Radio Swaragama FM. The purpose of this research is specifically to determine Radio Swaragama FM’s excellence rather than RRI Yogyakarta. Based on data which obtained from indepth interviews, it is known that there are many differences in the stages of the innovation process in Radio Swaragama FM or RRI Yogyakarta, which seen from strategic innovation, leadership, or organization culture. The sameness has known from the leaderships, which is both of them have inovative leaderships. There are differences in two stages of innovation process, both in idea generation and idea diffusion. At the stage of idea generation, there is difference in working environment between Radio Swaragama FM and RRI Yogyakarta. RRI Yogyakarta has a strong central force so the employees can not be work as free as they can, while Radio Swaragama FM give a freedom to employees to be creative. At the stage of idea diffusion, there are difference in ability of organization to capture their feedback. RRI Yogyakarta do not use the research to capture feedback, but Radio Swaragama FM use it. Ideally, organization which produce the innovation must capture the feedback to determine the success of innovation and also can be used as a basis for further innovations. That differences can be the reasons why Radio Swaragama FM more excellent than RRI Yogyakarta. Keywords: innovation, innovation process
