2015 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiABSTRACT This study is started from the release of government policy in Kemenpan RB Circular Letter No. 11 of 2014 about restriction of meeting activities/conference aside the office that held by government employees which is based by the high number of state losses due to inefficiency of official travel conducted by government employees. This policy led to a loss impact for hotel industry in Indonesia, such as Inna Garuda Hotel Yogyakarta. Therefore, Inna Garuda Hotel Yogyakarta felt the need to take strategic steps in order to survive in the middle of that situation that affected the revenue of the hotel. In order to achieve these objectives, Inna Garuda Hotel Yogyakarta requires the existence of Public Relations in the company. The existence of public relations will be effective if the Public Relations contribute to the preparation of the strategy and policy-making within the company that realized in the form of the preparation and implementation of programs of action and communication in order to gain understanding and acceptance from the public. The focus of this study is a public relations strategy of Inna Garuda Hotel in overcoming the impact of government policy on restriction of meeting activities/conference aside the office that held by government employees. The strategy stage in this study will be identified in accordance with the concept of a public relations strategy by Ronald D. Smith called Nine Steps of Strategic Public Relations. And the researcher will elaborate the types of strategy’s theory according to Cutlip, Center, & Broom (1999) and Nine Steps of Strategic Public Relations by Ronald D. Smith (2005).
