Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Masyarakat Petani dalam Adopsi Inovasi Teknologi Pertanian System of Rice Intensification(SRI)

ABSTRACT Nowadays, the development of agriculture in Indonesia has experienced a rapid progress. This case is followed by the complex problem related to problems faced by the farmers especially about the farmers‟ dependence towards the use of chemical fertilizers in agricultural cultivation. Creating an agriculture which goes together with nature becomes the main purpose of the growth of agriculture sector on these days. Along with the time, the efforts done by the government in improving the life of the farmers were only a discourse. The government policy which had been planned such as greenrevolution did not give much influence and show significant change. One of the efforts as a way to overcome this problem is an organic agriculture innovation which can be the solution for the government. One of the organic agricultures to be developed in Indonesia is an organic agriculture using System of Rice Intensification Method (SRI). As one of the new innovations in agriculture, this organic agriculture causes consequences due to the fact that it is different with the conventional agriculture developed by the previous farmers. This research aimed to review the factors which influence the farmer society in adopting the agriculture technology innovation of SRI. The research method used in this research was quantitative. The research location was in Watu Region, Argomulyo Village, Sedayu District, Bantul Regency. This location was chosen because in this group there is a farming group “Krenteg Mandiri” which is developing this SRI method into their agriculture. Besides that, the development of organic agriculture with SRI method has been implemented relatively more advanced than other village. The result of the research conducted by the researcher showed that the result based on the moment product analysis obtained the point of 0.094 based on the sig (2-tailed) result for the variable of social economy characteristic level (X1), the point of 0.057 based on the sig (2-tailed) result or the variable of innovation character perception level (X2), and the point of 0.356 based on the sig (2-tailed) result for the variable of information access level (X3). From the result of moment product correlation in testing the influence owned among the variables of those three factors, it has been proven that the result of those factors were not significant because it is >0.05, which means that there is no influence or connection towards the innovation adopting level of SRI.
