Abstraction Yogyakarta openness towards the newcomers to stay either temporarily or permanently is a historical fact that has lasted long enough. This study aimed to: [1] trace the roots of the conflict between the residents of the apartment RT 01 / RW 01 with PT. Bukit Permata Alam, [2] describe the dynamics and development of the conflict to this day as well. This study used a qualitative method through case studies in which through this method allows researchers to explore the background of the cases studied. Core or essence of a case of conflict of this apartment trying to be explored in depth. Then for the data collection techniques is done by observation, in-depth interviews (in-dept interview). Informants involved in this study included residents of RT 01 / RT 01, representative of PT. Bukit Permata Alam, Head Padukuhan, and communities. Analysis technique based on the analysis of case studies that are tailored to the context of the research area. The results showed that the root of the conflict is a government apartment deliberately giving permission to PT. Natural Bukit Permata. Although the study of the spatial area of Jalan Kaliurang area must not be built hotel and apartment but in reality do not run a tight government regulations. In addition, the PT. Permata Alam hill itself has contributed to this conflict increasingly heated. This can be seen from the manipulation of regulation to break through the government's permission.
