Gerakan Sosial - Lingkungan Pemuda NU :(Studi pada Front Nahdliyin Untuk Kedaulatan Sumber Daya Alam(FNKSDA)

2015 | Skripsi | SosiologiABSTRACT The role of social movements towards social transformation in society is inevitable. Social movements constantly produced and experienced its own dynamics. One of the factors that make the social movements never subsided is protests about the contestation of natural resources. One of its actors is Front Nahdliyin untuk Kedaulatan Sumber Daya Alam (FNKSDA). The members are mostly young person and has a base with Nahdliyin people. This study sociologically tries to describe and analyze the social movement undertaken by FNKSDA. Socio-environmental movement by the youth group emerged within the Islamic organization Nahdatul Ulama (NU). Sovereignty deficit of natural resourcesin Indonesia prompted a group of young men to create a social environmental organization whom related with NU community. The organizations was officially established on December 9th, 2013. Firstly, FNKSDA arise as a form of disappointment of mostly NU youth against NU structural group and the government. Therefore, the structural elite of NU considered to be less concerned about the issue of sovereignty of natural resources and socio-environmental sustainability of the people of Indonesia, especially NU members. According to FNKSDA, the structural elite of NU and the government is less responsible about natural resources and the socio-environmental impact caused. This study willing to answer the question about “How does the youth of FNKSDA running the agendas of their social-environmental movements ?”. Starting from that question, this study uses qualitative descriptive research approach with collecting data from interviews, observations, and literature. This approach tries to describe social phenomenon according to the issues and then will be examined to be explained and analyzed at last. Overall this study examines the FNKSDA movements. In addition, this study also examines how the organizations whom primarily dariven by NU’s youth criticize and resistance to the government whose weak against multinationa extractive industries. This study generates new insights related to the configuration of collective protests of socio-environmental movement who brings ideology and religious symbol as means of struggle. This organizations vision and mission is to strengthen and support the economy-politic and cultural struggle of the people who had become the victim of natural resources conflict in Indonesia. Also cemented the sovereignty to people in owning, managing, the used of natural resources. Keywords : Nahdliyin, Youth Organization, Environmental Movement
