Actually micro, small, and medium or home industry is a potential form of the people's economy. If the domestic industry more attention, then the sector can become the basic troubleshooting development in Indonesia. Development batik home industry is certainly not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Homeindustry development pattern constraint is the lack of capital and includes informal businesses that do not have formal social security system to protect workers. Batik industry develops in line with the strengthening of the world make batik and stamp enthusiasts increasingly jumped sharply. Thus the increase in revenue would be felt by the producers. But it is not necessarily felt by the workers or laborers batik. Their status as informal workers, especially in batik making them gained less opportunity to have social security as workers. The conditions and the issue must also be experienced by workers in the area Giriloyo batik, Wukirsari, Bantul. One group of batik in Hamlet Giriloyo, Wukirsari, the Group Sekar Arum. This study is a qualitative research with data analysis from several informants chosen by purposive sampling, using a credibility test, namely triangulation, confirmability, and discussion as a technical examination of the validity of data. From the results of data analysis, Despite the fast growing informal sector and a sector that includes the majority of the activities of the people of Indonesia, but the informal sector has a high risk. Risks often faced by informal sector actors themselves often unexpected arrival of, and are often at risk of bankruptcy. The absence of formal social security that protects workers the informal sector is very unfortunate given the existence of groups of batik have alternatives in developing and creating social security protection for members of the group. Sekar Arum as one digiriloyo batik group is a group that is successful in developing batik production. However, the role of the group in this case is limited to the sustainability of the group and has not touched the group guarantees against risks that may be experienced by members. Organizational governance within the group Unbalanced Sekar Arum puts batik craftsmen as members in an increasingly vulnerable conditions. Appear to have the efforts of the group management to provide facilities such as social security protection to all members. Keywords: Social security, batik groups, informal workers
