Pemaknaan Kaum Muda Terhadap Pendidikan Formal di Dusun Sidowayah, Desa Sidoharjo, Kecamatan Jambon, Kabupaten Ponorogo

2015 | Skripsi | SosiologiABSTRACT Education is a fundamental requirement. In essence, one of the goals of education is to improve welfare. School is the real form of embodiment formal education in many countries not least in Indonesia. However, some young people in the Sidowayah hamlet, Sidoharjo Village, District Jambon, Ponorogo just leave it and it has been going on since long. It have a tendency that most among young people who are not in school are men. At the beginning, poverty is the main cause why many citizens of Sidoharjo village has low education and not take a formal school. However, the discrepancy arises. After several efforts which made by village officials and many the government's policy to educational assistance for needy people, the youth is still reluctant to go to school. The method used is qualitative (qualitative research) and descriptive. While using a case study approach. Pierre Bourdieu agency theory is a theory that is used to analyze this phenomenon. Agency theory talks about two major schemes which are habitus and arena. It has the advantage of providing an opportunity to interpret habitus actor. It is emphasized in this theory is the attitude of an agent who is fully aware of the actions and decisions taken. In a study conducted in the Sidowayah hamlet revealed that in the midst of poverty experienced by actually born a new habitus. The new habitus is the act of the young people who choose not to complete the proceedings in formal school. Arena is a place where habitus fought to gain position in the midst of the environment where they inhabit. Neighborhood and patterns of interaction such as association of young people is the arena which is purposed. Based on Bourdieu ideas about habitus, it able to prove that all acts or forms of practices performed by an individual is aware of the action and also a response to the social structures that have been living in their neighborhood. The youth’s decision not to attend school is really realized by them based on various stages of internalization of the outside world that they see every day and their perspective about formal education itself. Shape conscious of young people are shown with their views on the school is considered to restrain, restrict, and also put pressure on both morally and materially. Later this concept became the basis of their foundation not to continue and complete the formal school. This action becomes a new habitus which continues to adhere.
