2015 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiAbstract In their anger of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)’s decision to allow his Democratic Party lawmakers to walkout from Regional Head Election Draft Bill’s vote, Indonesian people set abuzz hashtag on Twitter that became number one worldwide trending topic over the end of 2014, which was #ShameOnYouSBY. This article will describe how the social media represents SBY, the sixth President of Indonesia, who portrayed with various signs, verbal, non verbal, through meme, via hashtag #ShameOnYouSBY. Depiction who consistently done by meme-makers eventually to figure and represent SBY in negative way. Researcher use semiotic model of Charles Sander Peirce to answer the research question. Analysis undertaken from the relationship between shots, texts, and meaning that connect each other to form social message, political message, public emotion, or just to make an entertaining humor. In addition, researcher tested five samples of memes that spread through hashtag (#)ShameOnYouSBY on twitter and then connect the meaning between shots, texts, picture, using semiotic perspective. This research found that meme-makers who participates in #ShameOnYouSBY, having a similar trend, which is derogatory. The figure of SBY was represent in negative, yet attractive way.
