“Pilihan Rasional Guru Honorer” (Studi Pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri Di Kota Jogjakarta Wilayah Utara)

Teachers are the person who taught students in either private or state of Elementary School (SD), junior high school (smp), senior high school (sma), or vacational school (smk).the role of teachers in the process of educational learning and also as the responsible people is very important. Since 2005, the government have no lift honorary teacher to become permanent teachers directly, but they have to do test that held by the government to get the status of permanent teacher/civil servants. The teacher shortage that happened in every elementary school in Indonesia especially Jogjakarta, although Jogjakarta is well-known as the city of students but there are so many shortages teacher in the level of elementary school, and the school official look for the alternative way to fill this teachers shortage by hiring honorary teacher in order to cover this shortage, but their status as non-permanent teacher. Honorary teachers who work in various schools still have no wage standard that proper to they received. The main problem that they faced for recently time is about the standard wage, besides they teach with hours system, and also their unclear status as the teacher. Start from the problem assumption about honorary teacher status and also the shortage of teacher in Elementary school in mprthern region of Jogja that honorary teachers are alternative however they are not prosper yet as they expect. The basic educational is the most important part in life especially in elementary school. This research sees how honorary teachers with their option to devote themselves as teacher who paid by minimum wage and unclear status. Their reason to become honorary teacher are they expect For their future by getting guarantee as civil servants, and also social status as an authority person, and also as the pargon for society. Besides, they are able to build the relation with another teacher for their necessary such as they have another job side as outbound guide so that it makes a social web. Open their opportunity by counter cell phone and promote the product that they sell to another teachers. Comparing another job that can be done by honorary teachers, they are doing this effort to manage work time to find a job that can be covered their honorary's wage, meanwhile, become a teacher is more comfortable because they can share and make a circle of teacher society. To be a teacher is different from another job because they have much more holidays than another job., and also what makes them survive to become a teacher because the social status that stick on them.
