This research purposed to measuring Indonesia tourism competitiveness and its compared with another tourism of countries in ASEAN. The measurement of Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness are policy rules and regulation, safety and security, and health and hygiene. This three indicators influence the tourism competitiveness into tourist arrivals. The indicators explained into significant correlations with tourist arrivals. The indicators used by this research in appropriate with tourism domestic condition, in which its indicators are improvement of total amount of tourist arrivals in Indonesia. Tourist arrivals in Indonesia are increase annually that showing improvement of national tourism competitiveness. But, tourism competitiveness of Indonesia still lower than another ASEAN countries, compared with Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. Indonesia has so many natural and cultural resources, but it has not able to compete with three others countries. Malaysia and Singapore has modern and high technological infrastructure development strategy to facilitating the tourist. Even, Singapore has not natural and cultural resources, this country success to improving the tourist arrivals than total amount of local recident. Malaysia has four major ethnic and make it into leading cultural resources and developing natiral resources wisely. And Thailand priority is tourism sector as leading sector by developing the unique tourism and improving tourist arrivals from neighborhood countries. In addition, tourism policy factor from this three countries are consistence clearly with development strategy and comprehensive marketing. Indonesia has leading potential in natural and cultural resources, but it has weakness in policy management. There is no good relation enough of central government and local government on tourism development. Tourism priority and tourism marketing has not yet improving optimally. Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness position has not able compete with another competitor countries, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. This research showing the weakness of tourism competitiveness of Indonesia that purposed to preparing the national tourism in ASEAN Community 2015. The research methodology using statistic-descriptive methods and developing literature review data. Keywords: competitiveness, tourism, tourism policy.
