Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region.In the 1940s, PT POS Indonesia is the only delivery service that can be used in indonesia , also monopolize the freight business in that time. The globalization being a specific challenge for PT POS Indonesia. The competition appear for PT POS Indonesia with the presence of another private sector company such as TIKI and JNE _ Express Across Nation in freight business.And to be able provide a good public service and compete with the private sector, PT Pos Indonesia make a transformation. In these research, the shape of transformation PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region in providing public services is the main problem solver.I found that PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region perform transformation in three aspects ; human resources, systems and structures, and the business strategy. The strategy aspect is the biggest challenge for PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region . Sophisticated technology and competition from private sector give more difficulty for PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region specify a strategy. Meanwhile, the problem of human resources aspect have been resolved quickly, nowadays PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region is already provide the best services. These qualitative research using the case study method. The case study method has been chosen because this method providing capability to explain in depth by taking a case of PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta. Transformation that has been done by PT. Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region will visible with this method. Being the public agencies give more advantage for PT Pos Indonesia Sleman and Yogyakarta Region do the transformation. As a state company, PT Pos Indonesia design the direction of transformation more easily. With the country support and as a state company, PT Pos Indonesia be responsible to provide best public services. By using the state fund as capital, PT Pos Indonesia perform the efficient and effective services for publics. The rationale for this transformation is from the state then back again to the society.
