Implementasi ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals di Thailand

ABSTRACT In 2015, ASEAN will implement ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP) as one of crucial factors to create regional integration. MRA-TP will be implemented together with ASEAN Economic Community. MRA facilitates labor movement across ASEAN Member States, especially in tourism sector. Thus, it will help ASEAN countries to get skilled labor or professionals to enhance quality of service in the region. Besides, it also contributes to solve social problems, such as disparities among ASEAN States and labor shortages. Thailand is one of ASEAN Member States which give positive response in this project because MRA-TP can help Thailand to complete its national interest. Despite MRA-TP can offer a lot of benefits for tourism industry, MRA-TP can be a threat for local labor if there is no ripe preparations.
