ABSTRACT Freedom of the press era in Indonesia has made the development of cyber media journalism more advanced. News actuality it offers, make this medium increasingly popular in the public society. But the high popularity, does not mean that the media has been perfect. For pursue the actuality, cyber media journalism published regardless of accuracy and balance in their news. This condition can lead to amiss perception in society of the fact that actually happened. This phenomenon indicates that there is still ineffective application of the Code of Journalism in cyber media. That problem is the background and purpose of this research. The event will be the object of research studies is news of determining the status of Minister of Religion, Suryadharma Ali as a suspect in organizing Hajj corruption case, in May 2014. And Media were selected for use in this research is that Antaranews.com, news portal owned Antara news agency. As a state-owned institution, certainly in operational, Antaranews.com can not be separated from the influence of political interests of the government. From the above problems, this research will try to describe, how the application of the Code of Journalism in the news of determining the status Minister of Religion, Suryadharma Ali as a suspect in organizing Hajj corruption case, on news website Antaranews.com period in May 2014, specifically in Article 1 of the Code of Journalism Dewan Pers related to Coverage accuracy and balance in their news.
