2015 | Skripsi | SosiologiABSTRACT This research covered various practice of young indie musician at Yogyakarta. Historical data has been considered as a key analytic process either musical practice concept or youth discourse, instead of treat it as a study background only. It is needed to investigate the structure of the habitus in the field which become a basis upon music practice demonstared by young musician in the contemporary era. Authentic or sell out constitutes historical legacy which have been contested among young indie musician. As authentic has been a major value to the indie music practice, it sustain flux changing towards generation shifting. Dialectic cultural dialog between authentic and sell-out occur various negosiative strategy which has been done by young musician based on the logic of practice in the field drove by habitus. Those kind of practice taking place in a dynamic objective relation between actors as an exertion to transform various capitals and apply strategic tactic to stand on an everlasting ideological tension between authentic and sell out. In other side, young musician had been around transition momentum, an ambivalen situation whether being in present time while projecting the future. That circumstance brings them to the structural susceptibility, whereas indie as field of creative has a dynamic movement, flows in a fickl notion upon hope of the expectation of unexpected future. Therefore, it becomes very important to discuss about young musician’s strategy in the field of indie music practice forced among ideological tension and indeterminancy future.
