Taman Siswa dalam Pusaran Globalisasi Pendidikan:(Studi Mengenai Relevansi Konsep Pedagogis Perenial Ki Hadjar Dewantara dalam Pendidikan di Indonesia)

Like we all know, if Taman Siswa‟s role in national education context is decreasing, following with globalization development in our nation. Globalization phenomenon is inevitable considering the development of cooperation between countries. However, fact shows that this cooperation just benefit only for several countries, in this context is first world countries. The majority of third world countries, which include as developing countries seems like being „encroached‟ by the hegemony of developed countries through globalization. In contemporary globalization era, the ideas that Taman Siswa maintain since its birth become not popular. Societies are more oriented to send their children to public schools, religion-based private schools, or any other private schools which have a good quality. Nationalism that uphold by Taman Siswa only popular in colonialism, era before independency. However, after colonialism was erased, there was new discourse regarding cooperation between countries through globalization. Our societies are constructed to change their mind set become „global‟ instead of „local‟ until they forgot their values and identities as Indonesia people (identity crisis). Whereas, globalization have hidden new hegemony ideas from developed countries to developing countries. The left-thinkers said it as Neo-Colonialism. This become one trigger why its hard to apply pedagogy concept from Ki Hadjar Dewantara in contemporary context. Because the logic of materialism has spread into the education institutions. Its understandable if Indonesia currently is having „crazy‟ title syndrome. One basic concept that hard to apply is education equality. Education for all people. Even in regulation for national education system has stated clearly if all individual have rights to get good education. But, in the reality government concentrate education for increasing (the quality), not equalization (the quantity). So what happen is disparity toward educational practice which imply to social disparity. Especially in eastern of Indonesia which its education development is not as „sparkly‟ as western of Indonesia. Taman Madya Ibu Pawiyatan in the reality still maintain values that being uphold by Ki Hadjar Dewantara, even though in its application is still difficult. One of its cause is the amount of honorary teacher that more dominant compare to permanent teacher (foundation), that makes it less to be understood regarding pedagogy concept Ki Hadjar Dewantara. Of course there is no choice for Taman Madya Ibu Pawiyatan, because with honorary teacher they aim to minimize operational fund that hard to get because student availability that become one of income source. xi Globalization is not a disaster, it depends on how we as Indonesia people address it. If we address globalization with still holding on our social reality, so globalization an give constructive impacts within development, especially education. Therefore, Taman Siswa as our educational asset that value historic-cultural and based nationalism is never „wasted‟. While we start to forget Taman Siswa, actually we start not to understand our identity as Indonesian, because Indonesia nation is appreciating cultural values, history, and nationalism. And Taman Siswa, is an educational institution in the middle globalization stream which still implement those values.
