ABSTRACT The mass media present brings new problems. The issues associated with media refuse to run the functions of education. Though media such as magazines have a lot of number of fans in Indonesia. Magazines have advantages such as more in-depth content, have segmentation so as to address the needs of specific audiences, and has a attractive physical form such as cover. Education is meant is the introduction to the world of the media itself. This education related the strong structure of media effects, media content and media industry. But Ummi is interesting magazine. Magazine Ummi is a magazine with segment to a mature muslim woman and have a family. The content of the magazine is predominantly religious content that seeks to provide guidance role of a woman in the family. This magazine has a column that appears regularly and discuss the themes of media. The name of this rubric is Media Kita. Fill rubric usually offend the problems of everyday life and is associated with the presence of the media. This study focused on the rubric and have a purpose to determine the presence of media education in the Media Kita rubric at Women Magazine Ummi from the April 2012 until March 2013. The research using descriptive analysis. This is because the research is intended to see educational concepts of media that is displayed in the column Media Kita. Moreover, this analysis is appropriate because the researchers wanted to get a picture without intending to compare. The results showed that three major categories that representate of media education, almost all of them filled by the sentences in the article Media Kita. Domination of element of values and provision of information is very visible in these sentences. These results indicate that the articles in the rubric Media Kita fulfil categories of research that have been established that is elements of education and educational purposes. Based on the category that have been filled, it can be concluded that there is a concept of media education in the rubric Media Kita at Ummi Magazine edition April 2012 until March 2013.
