ABSTRACT Life-long employment is a system that has been long-established and practiced in the Japanese companies. Basically, there is no guarantee of legislation or an agreement that formally establishes this system, but rather the norms and cultural values that exist in Japanese society. The practice of life-long employment then create a system of internal labor markets that are very restrictive, especially when seen from a network administrative rules for pricing and allocation of labor that is only focused in the body of the company. In the era of modern markets which tend to promote flexibility and the free market, strict regulation of lifetime employment is becoming increasingly burdensome for companies as well as generation of modern Japanese labor which had limited mobility.
