ABSTRACT Interdependence and also the becoming of complexity in state relationship in international politics have brought significance impact on how state processing its foreign policy to the extent that now state cannot only consider on how to fulfill its national interest but also on how the foreign policy will fare in its relationship with other states. One of the study case can be learned from the case brought in this thesis, how Australia changed its political course by signing off contract with China to have military cooperation, after they received negative reviews on its previous policy. This thesis the will analyze which factors that had contribution on changing Australia’s foreign policy on its view of Chinese military in relatively short amount of time.
