Entrepreneurial State di Cina dan Amerika Serikat:Pengembangan E-Commerce

Technology has been and is being used in various sectors. In 1960s, utilization of technology for economic activities –electronic commerce- was commenced and now e-commerce is in its golden period. E-commerce is an industrial revolution which is not only able to change economic activities but also life style of societies. China and United States are leaders of this sector. Chinese government and US government, as entrepreneurial states, hold the key roles in the development of e-commerce. Both governments have built foundation of e-commerce in their countries, Chinese government created Golden Projects and US Government initiated Defense Advanced Research Project Agency. Yet, they took different steps in the next process of development. In China, the government run the leading role of e-commerce development and more directive entrepreneurial interventions. Meanwhile, US government let privat actors lead and undertook more facilitative entrepreneurial interventions. These differences affect the development of e-commerce in China and United States. Chinese e-commerce is raising and changing economic activities of the country significantly. On the other hand, US e-commerce performs adaptive integration pattern. This research shows that Chinese government and US government are key actors in the development of e-commerce. The differences of their roles as entrepreneurial states affect the development of e-commerce in each country.
