ABSTRACT Pindul Cave, a natural tourism object located in Bejiharjo Village, Karangmojo County, Gunungkidul Regency is one of the most demanded tourism objects nowadays. It is caused by its unique features that no other tourism objects in Gunungkidul Regency have. With main attractions such as spelunking or cave tubing, the management is carried out by the locals of Bejiharjo Village. This particular group of locals named themselves Dewa Bejo and they are formally inducted by the chief of the village. The management of Pindul Cave was carried out with autonomous expansion done by Dewa Bejo. It is expected that this so called management team will be able to independently manage Pindul Cave, however several problem arose in the process both from within the community itself and from outer party, in this case with Mrs. Atiek Damayanti, as well. The internal problem within this community can be solved through discussions and dialogues among conflicting groups, however the external problem with Mrs. Atiek Damayanti required an interference from the state or the government, since the right for all the land and natural resources lies in their authority.
