2015 | Skripsi | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalABSTRACT Myanmar is a multicultural state which has to deal with some problems related to relations between state and minority groups. One of them is Kachin conflict in Kachin State that has been going on for quite a long time. The conflict between ethnic Kachin with the Myanmar military and the majority ethnic Bamar has happened since the British colonial era. In 1994, between the government and the Kachin ethnic minorities do ceasefire agreement. 17 years later, in 2011, armed conflicts re-emerge between the two sides persisted until today. A number of peace talks have been held since 2011, but on the other hand increasing the number of refugees and civilian casualties continues to increase. This thesis discusses the causes of the Kachin conflict in 2011 and also the reason behind why the conflict can not be resolved shortly, using the theory of Protracted Social Conflict of Edward Azar.
