ABSTRACT The legacy of colonialism era in England have created the concept of English society which is sentimental to sensitive issues, particularly issues which are opposed to their prolonged belief and tradition since England was existed as a country. This sentiment then propelled an issue in the middle of English society which is unlikely to meet its end in near future, racism. Football has been becoming England‟s popular media to express and reflect the racism issue. The high amount of racism cases that have been plagued English football since the 1880s until the contemporary era shows that racism issue has been overstayed in English football. Racist acts happen in various form, from the overt ones, such as throwing bananas and racist chanting towards colored footballers which largely happened in 1970- 1980s until the covert ones, such as the discrimination in English clubs management which prevent black coaches to gain opportunities in coaching top division clubs and such unwitting racist acts which are denied by the perpetrators in 2000s. The social order which supports colorblind ideology in modern English society happens to be the main factor behind the long lasting of racism issues in English football. Colorblind is an ideology that believes that racism is no more big issue in English football. Colorblind helps to justify every racist act happens to be normal things in modern society. This kind of social order encourages the existence of two supporting mechanism which contributing to the existence of racism issue in English football, which is a mechanism that creating both institutional discrimination and unconscious racism acts namely internal mechanism and a mechanism that creating ineffectivity and low efficacy of FA‟s attempts and decisions in eliminating racism issue in English football namely systemic mechanism.
