Manajemen Festifal Film Berbasis Independen:(Studi kasus Manajemen Piala Maya 2014)

2015 | Skripsi | Ilmu KomunikasiABSTRACT Film festivals, with their various characteristics have now become an important part in Indonesia‟s film industry map. Its main function as an alternative place to exhibit the film also makes the film festival as one of the major players in both distribution and appreciation aspect. Currently, when a government permission no longer needed to hold a film festival, there are more parties, whether individuals, groups or institutions, starts to organize their own film festival. One of them is Piala Maya which initiated by individuals. Researchers were interested to see how the process of the management of Piala Maya 2014. The goal was to determine the managerial process of Piala Maya 2014, which like almost the majority of the other film festival in Indonesia, conducted independently. Piala Maya 2014 chosen as this research‟s object because of its unique origin, arising from the development of film appreciation activities in social media (Twitter). In addition, Piala Maya 2014 considered as a national film festival despite the implementation independent. The meaning of the term “independent-based management” in this research is the management process that does not involve any form of support from government or large corporate. Therefore, the research method used is a case study considering the management processes of Piala Maya 2014 is still in progress when the research is done. There is no theory of management that specifically discusses the process of independent-based management. Although Piala Maya organizers perform the four functions of management by Ricky W. Griffin (planning, organizing, leading, controlling), but in practice it does not run with the tracks and during the research it is found that the organizer still implement management by sense. The form of independence in the management process is most visible in the funding stage and movie judging process. Key words: film appreciation, film festival, independent-based management
