This undergraduate thesis talks about the influence of human motivation in LPMK Suryatmajan in relation to the performance of that institutions. Institutions for Community Empowerment (LPMK) emerge as a form of community participation in developed countries which its development and public services aren’t optimal yet. It appear to be interesting thing when a non profit institution and offer nothing to their members, can show a good performance in their jobs. It is certainly contrary to the remuneration edict which its results aren’t good as government expected. This undergraduate thesis uses observation method and in-depth interview with the board of LPMK Suryatmajan. These methods are used to get clear images about individual motivations between them based on motivational factors. The motivational factors in this research appeared from understanding that people tend to act because there are desire and needs that must be fulfilled. This desire and needs are implemented in hierarchy of human needs theory by Abraham Maslow. Later, Maslow’s theory about human needs is combined with hygiene theory by Frederic Herzberg to produce deep analysis about individual motivations in the board of LPMK Suryatmajan. The conclusions in this research explained that desire and need can push someone to act. Motivation to get social needs and self actualization are the biggest motivational factors in the board of LPMK Suryatmajan. These factors can drive LPMK Suryatmajan to become more creative and innovative. Herzberg theory about the fulfillment of the higher needs is influential to the board of LPMK Suryatmajan to do their jobs better. Hopefully, this research about the influence of motivation related to the jobs performance can be useful for the development of Public Administration.
