ABSTRACT This thesis is motivated by complaints from the public in response Temuwuh Lor village will lack the availability of water in the dry season to meet the need for watering or irrigation for their fields and plantations. The aim of this study is to better know the social impact is felt by the local community with the dam construction project, seen from the aspect of Demographic, Economic Aspects, Social and Cultural Aspects. In the research project the construction of reservoirs in the district Gamping, the method that will be used is qualitative and descriptive approach. Primary and secondary data obtained from interviews and observations to the parties that are directly related to this study. Seeing the impact of demographics, the majority of people are farmers. This requiring adequate irrigation systems but water reservoir has not yet maximized. Dam also not provide job orientation changes in the field of fisheries and tourism. On the economic impact, reservoir has not shown better progress to improve the economy of surrounding communities, especially farmers. In the social aspect, embung impact less harmonious relationship between Temuwuh Lor and Temuwuh Kidul in terms of management member. It turns dam can not provide a significant positive impact on society Temuwuh Lor village. It can be seen from, irrigation systems which have not been up to the field and their estates and the absence of reservoir development towards fisheries and tourism, has not been an increase in the economy of farmers and there is a less harmonious relationship between the two hamlets. It can be said with establishment of dam has not had a significant impact really relevant for society Temuwuh Lor village.
