Keterlekatan Sosial Pasar Tradisional:(Studi tentang Keterlekatan Antar Aktor di Pasar Sentul Yogyakarta

Abstract The existence of modern market is growing fast. It slowly moves the existence of traditional market such as Pasar Sentul. The government of Yogyakarta establishes policy in regulating traditional market to maintain its existence. However, the government is also easy to give permission of modern market establishment. The existence of Pasar Sentul nowadays is becoming an interesting phenomenon to be investigated. There are two things that need to be investigated; which are identification of actors who play role and the actors‟ embeddings in supporting Pasar Sentul existence. This study is using descriptive qualitative method. The data are collected by doing interview, observation, and document analysis. The informants are Pasar Sentul staffs, Pasar Sentul traders, buyers, distributors. Data analysis is be done by three steps; which are data reduction, data report, and conclusion. The investigation shows that many actors who play role in maintaining Pasar Sentul existence. They are the traders, suppliers, resellers, buyers or direct consumers, including food stalls owners who buy the daily needs, parkers, and market staffs. Actors‟ embeddings in supporting Pasar Sentul existence is shown by market dynamics. Pasar Sentul‟s dynamic is maintained and dynamic because its activities create dependence chain. That is why this market still exists. Characteristics and its traditional make it become the place for society to get unique products or traditional products such as its snacks. In addition, social interaction of the actors create warm, open, and its real interaction. The conclusion is that the actors in the market are related one to another and stick together in rational and structural. Those two strong embeddings can support the existence of Pasar Sentul as traditional market in Yogyakarta until this time. Keywords: actors, embedded, traditional market
