Indonesia’s main interest over this treaty is capturing Indonesian corruptors whom run away to Singapore and returning its asset. Based on calculations compiled from various sources, state’s money that have been corrupted by corruptors whom run away to Singapore reaches more than 17 Billion Rupiah. This shows the great amount of losses that is received by the state. After some negotiations, the treaty was signed on April 27th 2007 in Bali. Besides extradition treaty, the two countries also signed Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA). However, when taken in the Indonesian domestic public, the agreement failed to be ratified and reach to dead lock.
