ABSTRACT The present study is an attempt to identify the divestment of social capital. In this case the researchers took the divestment of social capital experienced by coastal communities in an effort to save the environment in various ways to cooperate with the various parties concerned with the environmental safety of the coastal region. Various ways are done by planting mangrove trees and fir trees, in addition to the manufacture of dike breakwaters. However, various problems occur both at the local government level and at the level of the surrounding community. Start of corruption and lack of public awareness to act together effectively in saving the coastal area of the abrasion disaster. Social interactions that occur in the Tanggul Tlare village passive and people still think idealistic to the problems of environmental damage is considered by the public eye. Communities do omission while disposing of waste and littering both in rivers and at sea. Social interaction is not good cause unfavorable impact anyway. Such constraints can hamper efforts to save the environment. Existing social capital tends to decline and the public is not aware of himself but with the help of other parties outside the community. Reduced social capital in the Tanggul Tlare village into problems of its own in addition to efforts to save the environment. The method used in this study is a qualitative method and a case study. Purposive sampling is a research technique to obtain the informant related environmental rescue effort. The data obtained from one informant, then ditriangulasikan with data from other informants and confirmed by observation in the field in order to obtain valid data. This research was conducted at the Tanggul Tlare, District Kedung, Jepara, Central Java. Tanggul Tlare Village Community uphold mutual cooperation and solidarity in carrying out daily activities. Mutual cooperation and togetherness makes social capital has its own role to efforts to save the environment. Environmental damage can lead coastal communities to establish cooperation with other parties who helped in saving the environment of this coastal region. This effort will help the community to carry out daily activities without fear of disaster will happen in front of the eye. Social capital (social capital) are made public in addition to the repressive efforts in restoring the state of the environment of coastal areas are also thinking about how preventive efforts are made so that the impact is felt not as severe as had happened. The results that have been achieved by the community include reforestation in coastal areas Tanggul Tlare village is characterized by mutual trust, networks, and norms are formed in society. Suggestions for local governments that need to be observed is the continuous monitoring and assistance for people to be able to run smoothly rescue efforts while maintaining the quality and quantity in the implementation of activities.
