Perilaku Bullying Pelajar Perempuan:(Studi Bentuk Kekerasan di SMA Homogen Yogyakarta).

ABSTRACT Nowadays, there are a lot of bullying happened in the school. There are big numbers of students who become the victims of this issue. This research was done in SMA Santa Maria Yogyakarta. This school is a girl homogeneous school. According to the mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti, bullying is a small thuggery. Based on the data in Komisi Nasional Anti Kekerasan, 279.760, there were a lot of bullying cases towards women happened in 2013. This number is bigger than the previous year whose numbers were 216.156. From the background, there were two research problems, that is the type of bullying acts happened in the homogenous school and the reasons which cause those acts. This research used qualitative method. The data gathering technique was done by observation, questionnaire and deep interview with the specific informant. The participants of this research were the 11th and 12th grade students of SMA Santa Maria Yogyakarta, who have potential to be the doers and the victims of bullying. The gathered data was analyzed using descriptive technique, by combining the situation and the problems in detail. The result shows that there are three reasons which motivate the students to bully others in the girl homogenous school, namely individual rationality, self-existence, and rivalry among students. The acts of bullying happened when the students were not with their peers. Bullying mostly happened by own desire. In this case, peer group has a role as the violent act controller. The act of bullying mostly happened in the verbal acts. The findings also found out that the seniority among students in the homogenous school was quite high. It is showed through the observation when the tenth or twelfth grade students met the higher grade students, they would firstly greet or bow to those senior students.
