ABSTRACTION Travel writing is come back to be the one of popular genre literature in Indonesia. The Naked Traveler: Catatan Seorang Backpacker Wanita Indonesia Keliling Dunia is the famous and the bestseller pop-travelogue. It is written by woman who has pen name Trinity. In general, the story of traveling especially about backpacker has the image that is only for man and it is masculine activity. Woman who has feminine characters, weak, and unconfident is seldom to be backpacker. Based on background, it is important to know how the identity and subjectivity of woman as backpacker are described in the travelogue. This research try to find out identity and subjectivity of woman that is described inside text. The researcher use discourse analysis with Teun van Dijk approach to analyze text inside travelogue The Naked Traveler: Catatan Seorang Backpacker Wanita Indonesia Keliling Dunia. From the research, there found how woman describe her identity and her subjectivity as backpacker. Woman is not only has feminine characters but also she has masculine characters.
