ABSTRACT Jihan Purbawati (09/282275/SP/23417) Judul Skripsi : The Content Analysis of Terrorism News in Arrahmah and Voa- Islam: Issued in January 1, 2012 – 30 June, 2013 xvi + 162 Pg. + Appendices Objectivity is crucial for journalism, conflict journalism in particular. Objectivity of news terrorism is both of importance in order to avoid hates speech and of importance for public to share moral justification. This justification is on the effect of the success of Anglo-American geopolitics strategy through Global War on Terrorism (permanent case: Operation Contingency Overseas). The researcher took Arrahmah and Voa-Islam for her research with the reason that both news resources declare as alternative media. In order to figure out terrorism news objectivity in Arrahmah and Voa-Islam sites in 1 January, 2012 – 30 June, 2013, the researcher proposed problem formulation “how proper is the terrorism news objectivity so far issued by Arrahmah and Voa-Islam in 1 January, 2012 – 30 June, 2013 related to Westerstahl journalism standard?” The purpose of the research is to explain terrorism issue news issued by Arrahmah and Voa-Islam online-presses and to do research the conformity of the news of terrorism of both presses with journalism objectivity standard. What to expect from the research is that (1) academically enrich journalism theme in the field of Science of Communication; (2) add suggestion for the activity of online-press; and present description journalism practices related to objectivity on terrorism made by both sites. In order to answer the problem formulation, the researcher uses quantity approach on the analysis method. Instrument research to survey the objectivity phase is that 59 indicators which are descended from the idea of objectivity of Westerstahl in 1983. The result of the research is shown that of 222 news items, 36,9% of news gains high objectivity score, 53,1% gets medium score and 9,9% has low score. Key Words: journalism, objectivity, terrorism
