ABSTRACT Disaster earthquake on May 26, 2006 caused many negative impacts on the social and economic life of women entrepreneurs in Wukirsari Village, District Imogiri. However, this condition does not cripple the lives of women entrepreneurs in Wukirsari, they were able to quickly get up and do the social and economic recovery after the disaster. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of utilization of social capital used women entrepreneurs in Wukirsari Village in conducting social and economic recovery after the disaster. This relates to the skills and strategies of women entrepreneurs in building a network in Wukirsari internal and ekstrenal in postdisaster recovery efforts. The method used in this research is the method mix (mix method) with a case study approach. While the analysis conducted in this study using secondary data analysis where most of the data is sourced from a collaborative research grant Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM, entitled "Strategy for Disaster Resilient Women". The results of this study indicate that women entrepreneurs in Wukirsari able to take advantage of the forms of social capital that exist in their lives well to restore the socio-economic conditions independently. Altruism spirit of sharing and mutual support are still attached and well preserved in their lives able to put to good use to build social capital bonding, bridging, and linking in the post-disaster recovery. On the other hand, the existence of social groups in their lives they mamfaatkan also able to build up the strength in these three forms of social capital. In the end, through the utilization of social capital bonding, bridging, and linking it to become a positive investment for women entrepreneurs in Wukirsari in restoring the social and economic conditions of post-disaster independently and as a way to alert a disaster that could threaten any time.
