Abstract Tolerance and mutual understanding is an absolute necessity in a plural society. Otherwise, the society would be vulnerable to conflict. Shia is recently become such a public issue, especially focused on the conflict in several places over Indonesia and middle east. It’s mostly because of Nescience about shia and mistakes in defining it. In this point, the media becomes a very important instrument in handling the conflict, whether informing the accurate or inaccurate information about it. Inaccurate informations are mostly found in the online news site, because the importance of accuracy frequently defeated by timelineness. Meanwhile, nowdays, in digital world and internet era, information access through online media is quite massive. We could even say that online media had already got rid of, or at least, surpassed most of conventional media. For that matter, online media plays a major role in constructing a comprehensive understanding through an accurate information about Shia, in order to avoid such a missconception which could lead to conflict among the society.
