ABSTRACT The phenomenon of altruism action is not a new phenomenon in the life of society or it can be said that the phenomenon is actually common in the community. Where a person in social interaction has an instinct or desire to deliver a sense of sympathy and empathy for others who need help or even traditional. In the modern society, can still be found cultural phenomenon (altruism) that are considered attractive and authentic at someone in the community mountaineer . The phenomenon of altruism action try presented in this study is directed at the community mountaineer. A mountain climber active member of the community-intensive in mountain climbing activities become an important subject in the study. Individuals are assumed to be able to interpret the act of altruism and menaruhminat or special attention mountain. Until climbing activities, formulation of research questions as the basis of analysis seeks to answer, first, how to interpret the act of altruism mountaineer mountaineering activities? Second, how to understand the meaning of altruism action back of the mountaineers in the context of everyday social life? Through qualitative methods Edmund Hursserl phenomenological perspective and Alfred Schutz, construction is expected to explain the meaning of a person's act of altruism on mountain climbing activities. The process of observation and in-depth interviews with a number of mountain climbers aiming community members explained "meaning" of the phenomenon of altruism in mountaineering activities in Indonesia. Studies were carried out to get two special and general conclusions, in particular conclusions: (1) a mountain climber has an internal reason to interpret the actions of altruism does. (2) The meaning of "intersubjective" found in everyday social life praxis of the climbers. Adapaun one of the main meaning is found that the presence of others is part of his being. (3) The form of construction of meaning that someone else "mean" , implemented into altruism action. (4) "The conceptualization of self" as a mountain climber to form the atmosphere of togetherness (solidarity). In general conclusion, (1) the recognition of acts of altruism can occur because of the involvement of others in social interactions in mountaineering. (2) Making of the following experiences encountered altruism or do mountain climbers semerta not necessarily personal experience, but the experience has been shared with others, it can be felt, can be experienced by other mountain climbers when faced with a particular condition or situation in different areas. (3) The act of altruism on individuals (intersubjective) do not belong to private individuals, but the same product or a joint action (commonsubjektif).
