Abstraction Communication and information technology is one of the most massive elements of globalization. Nowadays people are required to be able to communicate using internet. Communicate using the Internet is potential for people to build wider social networks. It is interesting to study about social pattern-based social networking because it will affect the social consequences for the people both internally and externally. This research was conducted using qualitative methods and descriptive narrative. The study located in “Kampung Cyber” (cyber community based on kampong/village) because it has an Internet-based empowerment. The data being collected from people who have business operations and use the internet to expand their social network from the smallest circle (internal) to be able to attract others (external). This research results show that the function of Internet in the development of the network is not made from the close relationship between people (in Kampung Cyber), however, the Internet encourage social network with external side for some residents. It means that the Internet innovations is being obstacle of social bounding internally but externally make the social bridging network getting stronger. This is shows the level of conformity of citizens to the outside community (Kampong) higher than in their inside. There is a consequence among the internet-based social networking. It is about the uneven results of empowerment because of the level of education to adapt the technological changes. Social networks have a great potential to provide encouragement for residents to develop the village. Key words: internet, Kampung Cyber (cyber Kampong), social networks
