ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the potential conflict contained in the Caturtunggal Village by studying the cases that have occurred and the condition of the society nowadays. Researchers are motivated to do this research because of the structure of society is quite unique at Caturtunggal Village that has many social phenomena of conflict and society‟s interaction are interesting to study. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Qualitative research method chosen because the point that will be examined in this study is the social phenomenon of conflict, so the descriptive analysis will be helpful to explain the phenomena. Phenomenological approach is used so that researchers are able to understand the meaning of an event and its connection to ordinary people in particular situations. The results of this study indicate that there is potential for conflict in the territory of the village of Caturtunggal and will answer questions regarding the translation of research with potential causes of conflict. It is hoped that this study can be used as reference material by stakeholders in determining the steps in dealing the conflict. Keywords : conflict , social behavior.
